Project Description: Anderson Dam is a 240-foot-tall earthen embankment dam located just east of Morgan Hill, California. The Anderson Dam Tunnel Project (ADTP) is currently under construction and represents the first major step toward the larger Anderson Dam Seismic Retrofit Project (ADSRP). The ADTP involves the construction of an approximately 1,700-foot-long tunnel under the dam’s right abutment, including a new lake tap and outlet structure. This tunnel will serve as the initial means of flow diversion for the upcoming ADSRP construction and will ultimately be integrated into the dam’s permanent outlet works. The ADSRP is the largest project ever undertaken by Valley Water, involving a near-complete reconstruction of the earthen embankment dam, significant spillway upgrades, and comprehensive improvements to the outlet works.
The ASCE San Jose Branch is a subsidiary of the ASCE San Francisco Section, a 501c(3) non-profit organization, operating locally in the San Francisco bay area.
