DESCRIPTION:Join the ASCE San Jose Branch for a special dinner and technica
 l presentation in the City of Santa Cruz. The dinner presentation will be 
 held on Thursday\, October 24\, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ideal Bar 
 &amp\; Grill in Santa Cruz\, CA.\n\nRepresentatives from the City of Santa
  Cruz will present: Collaborative Project Delivery of $25M in Emergency Ro
 adway Repairs on West Cliff Drive.\nRegistration Options:\nDinner included

 t Description\n\nThe City of Santa Cruz is undertaking the Bethany Culvert
  Project following severe storm damage in January 2023\, which led to road
  closures and detours. The Federal Highway Administration has approved ove
 r $20 million in emergency repair funding to address multiple issues along
  West Cliff Drive. Local consultants\, including Mesiti Miller Engineering
  and Dudek\, are collaborating with the City and Granite Construction to i
 mplement a cost-effective design that adheres to regulatory requirements a
 nd protects against future erosion. The project includes demolishing the e
 xisting culvert\, installing two new ones\, elevating the road surface\, a
 nd improving guardrails. Construction is estimated at $9 million\, with co
 mpletion expected by December 2024.\n\nThe talk will be a panel of team me
 mbers from the design and construction of the project as well as Kevin Cro
 ssley from the City of Santa Cruz.\n\nAbout the Speaker\n\n\n\nKevin Cross
 ley PE\nAssistant Director/City Engineer\nCity of Santa Cruz-Public Works\
 n\nAs the Assistant Director and City Engineer\, Kevin oversees approximat
 ely 20 full time staff who support private development review\, operationa
 l functions and capital project delivery functions across the City. Kevin 
 has worked for the City since 2012. Kevin is a licensed Civil Engineer and
  holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly -
  San Luis Obispo. He enjoys hiking\, mountain biking\, and cooking complic
 ated dinners for his family.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nThe ASCE San Jose Branch is a s
 ubsidiary of the ASCE San Francisco Section\, a 501c(3) non-profit organiz
 ation\, operating locally in the San Francisco bay area.
